Paper, PDF, and scan to CAD — accurately, in days, not weeks
We convert hand-drawn sketches, scanned drawings, PDFs, point cloud data, and legacy paper sets into clean, editable CAD files. AutoCAD-native output, your firm conventions, and turnaround windows that match the speed of your project.
Most U.S. firms have a backlog of legacy drawings — paper, PDF, scanned, microfilmed — that need to be converted before they can be used. We handle that conversion at production scale. Send us the source. We send back DWG files clean enough to drop into your active models.
What you get
Four steps from your scope to clean, fabrication-ready files
Send the source
Upload paper scans, PDFs, point clouds, or sketches. Specify your CAD standards, layer conventions, and deadline.
Quote in 24-48h
Per-sheet or per-project pricing depending on volume. Real number, named team, fixed timeline. No open-ended billing.
Conversion with QC
Senior drafter executes. Internal accuracy check against the source for every sheet. Discrepancies flagged and resolved with you, not silently changed.
Editable DWG delivered
Clean, layered, fully editable DWG files. Two revision rounds included by default. Final files in your preferred format.
What buyers ask before sending us their first project
How accurate is paper-to-CAD conversion?
+
Geometry is reconstructed to within tolerance of the source drawing. Where the source is ambiguous (faded text, smudged dimensions, skewed scans), we flag the ambiguity and check with you rather than guessing. Final files are 100% editable — no traced raster, no embedded images.
How much does CAD conversion cost?
+
Pricing is typically per sheet, depending on density and source quality. Simple drawings (single-discipline floor plans, elevations) are at the low end. Complex multi-discipline sheets, heavily dimensioned details, or poor-quality scans price higher. Most projects fall in a $20 to $80 per sheet range. We quote against the actual sheets, not generic estimates.
Can you handle large legacy archives?
+
Yes. We have moved entire archive sets — hundreds to thousands of sheets — into clean DWG. We handle batched intake, version-tracked deliveries, and consistent layer/style application across the full set.
What about poor-quality scans or faded blueprints?
+
We handle them. Pre-processing, deskewing, and contrast cleanup are part of the workflow before tracing begins. Where the source is genuinely illegible, we flag the area on a markup and check with you before guessing.
Do you offer scan-to-CAD from point cloud data?
+
Yes. We work in Recap Pro and CloudCompare to register scans and produce 2D plans, elevations, and sections — or 3D BIM models if downstream coordination is needed. See our Revit drafting page for the as-built modeling workflow.
Can you convert to formats other than DWG?
+
Yes. DWG is the default but we deliver DXF, PDF, IFC, and Revit RVT files when needed. Tell us your downstream tooling and we will match the format.
How do you ensure the converted CAD matches our firm standards?
+
Send us your CAD standards before kickoff — layer names, line weights, text styles, block libraries, dimensioning conventions. We apply those from the first sheet. If you do not have documented standards, we can help you build them or work to a published standard like NCS.
Send your scope. Get a real quote in 24 to 48 hours.
No commitment, no sales sequence. Tell us about your project and we'll respond with a real number, a real schedule, and a named team.
