Steel detailing is where the design intent meets the shop floor — and where most outsourcing relationships fail. Connections that do not match shop capability. Erection plans that ignore field reality. Bolt lists that do not match what purchasing actually buys. We produce structural and miscellaneous steel detailing for fabricators, erectors, and general contractors across the United States. You send us the requirements — design drawings, EOR markups, project specs — and we send you fabrication-ready files validated against AISC, AWS, and NISD references. Most projects move from kickoff to first submittal within five to ten business days. Our Hermosillo team has spent careers serving American fabricators; the AISC literacy comes from doing the work, not from a training program.

What you get

Erection drawings and anchor bolt plans
Field-installation drawings keyed to the shop output. Anchor bolt plans coordinated with the foundation drawings and the EOR's anchor design.
Assembly and part drawings
Shop-ready assembly drawings and individual part drawings dimensioned to fabrication tolerance. AISC 360 and AWS D1.1 compliant.
Bolt lists, weld maps, and BOMs
Complete bills of material organized by lot and sequence. Bolt lists keyed to the assemblies. Weld maps that match AWS D1.1 procedures.
Tekla, KISS, NC, and Fabtrol output
CNC-ready files: KISS files for ABM machines, NC files for plasma and beam line, Fabtrol reports for purchasing and inventory. Whatever your shop runs, we output to it.
RFI management on your letterhead
RFI logs maintained on your project conventions and branding. Your EOR sees one consistent voice from your firm, not a vendor with a different format every project.
Connection coordination with the EOR
Connections coordinated with the engineer of record or your in-house PE. We resolve ambiguity during detailing, not after submittal — fewer revision cycles, faster approvals.
Our process

Four steps from your scope to clean, fabrication-ready files

01

1. Discovery call

Thirty minutes with the lead detailer who will own your project. Scope, shop conventions, EOR relationship, schedule, and deliverable spec.

02

2. Fixed quote

Twenty-four to forty-eight hours after discovery. Fixed scope, fixed fee, fixed timeline, named team. No open-ended hourly billing.

03

3. Detailing and submittals

Submittal cycles on your cadence. Weekly status calls. RFIs resolved same business day. First submittal typically within five to ten days of kickoff.

04

4. Revisions and shop release

Two revision rounds included by default. Final deliverables in your conventions, in your file formats, ready for the shop floor.

Common questions

What buyers ask before sending us their first project

What codes and standards do you detail to?

+

AISC 360 for structural steel, AWS D1.1 for welding, NISD detailing references, OSHA 1926 for erection. CISC for Canadian projects. We adapt to firm-specific and project-specific conventions once documented.

How fast can you turn a first submittal?

+

Most structural steel projects move from kickoff to first submittal within five to ten business days. Larger industrial scopes or connection-heavy projects may take longer; the quote tells you the real number, not an optimistic one.

Do you detail miscellaneous metals?

+

Yes — stairs, rails, ladders, platforms, embeds, and industrial steel are a core scope, not an afterthought. The work most outsourcing partners deprioritize is work we do well.

Do you handle connection design?

+

We detail to the EOR's connections by default. Connection design is available as a separate scope when the EOR delegates it — coordinated with a licensed PE on our team and stamped where required. Scope discussed during discovery.

What software do you work in?

+

Tekla Structures and Advance Steel are primary. AutoCAD and SDS/2 on request. We deliver in the file formats you specify and integrate with Trimble Connect, ProjectSight, or whichever collaboration platform you use.

How does nearshore compare to offshore on cost?

+

Offshore steel detailing typically runs twenty to thirty-five dollars per hour; nearshore Sonora typically runs thirty-five to fifty-five per hour. All-in delivery cost, once rework and RFI cycles are factored, usually lands within five to fifteen percent of offshore — with a far shorter project clock.

What is your typical engagement model?

+

Per-project fixed-scope pricing for defined deliverables, dedicated capacity for ongoing overflow, or hybrid. We avoid open-ended hourly billing — it incentivizes the wrong behavior on both sides.

How do you handle confidentiality and IP?

+

Mutual NDA standard before discovery. Project files stay in whatever environment you prefer. All IP is yours by contract. We do not portfolio your projects without written consent.
