A Revit family is only as good as its parameters, its types, and the discipline behind it. We build families that flex correctly, schedule correctly, and tag correctly — not models dressed up as families. From a single custom door to a manufacturer-grade product library, our families are built by senior modelers who understand both Revit family editor mechanics and how the family will be used downstream in your projects.

What you get

Custom architectural families
Doors, windows, casework, furniture, fixtures, and equipment built to your firm conventions. Parametric, type-driven, and fully editable. Tagged and scheduled correctly.
Custom structural families
Connections, embeds, anchor assemblies, structural shapes, and custom framing components. Built to flex with parametric inputs and to schedule by mark, type, and assembly.
Custom MEP families
Equipment, fixtures, fittings, and connectors for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Properly hosted, with valid connectors for system flow and clash detection.
Manufacturer product libraries
BIM-ready Revit content for building product manufacturers — your full product line, modeled to your spec, with parameters that match your data sheets. Useful for spec-driven sales channels.
Family library audits and rebuilds
Existing family library bloated, broken, or inconsistent? We audit, consolidate, and rebuild to a clean standard. Useful for firms who inherited a library or merged practices.
Family creation for product replacement
Need a Revit family that does not exist in any library? Send a cut sheet, a photo, and a real-world product reference — we build the family from scratch to match.
Our process

Four steps from your scope to clean, fabrication-ready files

01

Send the spec

Upload cut sheets, manufacturer drawings, photographs, or sketches. Tell us your family naming convention, parameter standard, and library taxonomy.

02

Quote in 24-48h

Per-family or per-library pricing depending on volume. Real number, named senior modeler, fixed timeline. No open-ended billing.

03

Family build with QC

Senior modeler builds the family. Internal QC pass: parameters flex, types schedule, tags display, host behavior is correct. Test fit in a sample project before delivery.

04

Clean handoff

Final .rfa files delivered, organized to your library taxonomy. Two revision rounds included by default. Documentation of parameters and types included.

Common questions

What buyers ask before sending us their first project

What does Revit family creation actually include?

+

Building the .rfa file from a clean template, defining parameters (instance and type), creating types as needed, configuring host behavior, setting visibility and graphic overrides per view, ensuring scheduling and tagging work correctly, and testing the family in a sample project before delivery. The deliverable is a production-grade family, not a placeholder.

How much does Revit family creation cost?

+

Pricing depends on family complexity. Simple architectural families (basic doors, windows, fixtures) typically run $80 to $200 each. Complex parametric families with multiple types and detailed geometry run $300 to $800. Manufacturer product libraries with dozens or hundreds of families are quoted as a project. We quote against the actual scope, not generic estimates.

Can you work to our firm parameter standard?

+

Yes. Send us your parameter list, naming convention, and library taxonomy before kickoff. We apply those to the first family. If you do not have documented standards, we can help you build them or work to a published reference like the AIA G202 BIM Protocol.

Do you build families that work for IFC export?

+

Yes. We configure IFC entity mappings and Pset assignments where required, so the family round-trips correctly to IFC for downstream coordination or fabrication. Send us your IFC requirement and we will configure to that standard.

Can you create a manufacturer Revit library for product sales?

+

Yes. We produce BIM-ready Revit content for building product manufacturers as a turnkey project. The family library is built to your product line, your data sheet specifications, and the BIM library distribution standard you publish through (BIMobject, BIMsmith, your own portal, or direct download). We can also produce companion AutoCAD blocks and SketchUp components for cross-platform distribution.

Can you fix or rebuild our existing family library?

+

Yes. We audit existing libraries for naming consistency, parameter coverage, file size, broken references, and template hygiene. We consolidate duplicates, rebuild broken families, and re-organize to a clean taxonomy. Useful for firms who inherited a messy library or merged with another practice.

How do you ensure a family flexes correctly?

+

Every family is tested against parameter combinations before delivery. We flex types, instance parameters, and edge cases (very small, very large, corner conditions) to confirm geometry, visibility, and connectors all behave correctly. Failed flex tests are fixed before the family ships.
